Healing wings

I've always liked Healing Wings from Skipping Stones Design, so when I needed a Sympathy card, I reached for it. I love the butterflies in Healing Wings, but chose to use the poem from that set and then the flowers from Beautiful Botanicals.

Mojo Monday-a little latte

'a little latte'...get it?  But did you get the logo on the cup sleeve?  A star and a buck, Starbucks?  Love this set from Skipping Stones Design called Funny Coffee Vol. 1. This is for a belated birthday card for my nephew...the cappucino text is from an old Scrapbook Mini Calendar, loved this new paper from 7 Gypsies, and loved this sketch from Mojo Monday:

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to say 'Hi'!

OWH-Mojo 222-You is kind...

There's a challenge ending in a couple of hours over at the Stars and Stamps (Operation Write Home)  blog.  It is sponsored by Our Daily Bread Designs who is offering two $25 gift certificates to a random participant as well as sponsoring a OWH shipment for every 25 entries.

I got the inspiration for the sketch from Mojo Monday 222:

...and the inspiration for the sentiment from the book (and movie) The Help, by Kathryn Stockett.  If you have not seen the movie, put it on your list, it is wonderful!

Milkbone underwear...

"It's a dog eat dog world...and I'm wearing milkbone underwear".  I made this card for a guy at work who's had some tough times recently...he'll appreciate the humor!

The inspiration came from Embellish-Patterned Paper Challenge:

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 200 - quite the milestone!

Mojo Moxie Fab-You're fabulous Dahling!

As soon as I saw the Trigger Tuesday post at Moxie Fab this week I thought of the fabulous shoes and purses from Skipping Stones Design.  I had a little more trouble figuring out what to do with the background paper, but then I thought of the Timeless Textures set and made my own.  I also resisted using that pink and green in the background, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.  Here's the color inspiration:

Don't you just love the big black buttons on that yellow?  Totally reminds me of a suit I used to have, but it had a black and white striped pleated skirt that went with it...oh the memories! LOL  Anyhow, you can find a link to the Tuesday Trigger post here.

And for the sketch layout I chose one of my favorite sites Mojo Monday: (#199)

Mojo Monday - Designed by:

My baby boy turned 20 on Friday and I used this new 'Designed by' stamp from Technique Tuesday, along with a background stamp from Pumpkin Seed Sentiments and a sentiment from Green Birthday, both from Skipping Stones Design and combined them with the Mojo Monday 185 Sketch Challenge.  Also used some Grunge Board for the arrow and a star brad and twine from Stampin' Up.

Do you think it's close enough to the sketch challenge?

Mojo169-Sentiment Frames

I love vintage but I'm afraid I need more practice...but these awesome Sentiment Frames are really inspiring me, along with the Build a Brad paired with the Timeless Textures set.  This sketch from Mojo Monday was a great place to start:

And here is the finished card for MOJO169, what do you think?

Jacob or Edward

For all of you Twilight fans out there, it's almost time for the release of Eclipse on DVD and to celebrate, this set is on sale at Skipping Stones Design.  I love the cute sayings...I am actually Team Edward but I do like this sentiment:

I made this card for two challenges, The Play Date Cafe PDCC57

and also Mojo Monday MOJO166

Thanks for looking ~
