Don't take any...

I ran across this little 'wooden nickel' in my stash recently (picked it up several years ago, an advertisement on the other side) and thought it would be fun for the current challenge 'Knock on Wood' at Frilly and Funkie.

It was a bit of a challenge to choose which image to use from the Paper Doll collection, but when I settled on the vintage car, this 'driver' seemed to fit the bill. Young and naive enough to be reminded to not take any wooden nickels!

When I looked up the history of the saying 'don't take any wooden nickels', it was often used as part of a farewell comment, ie "see you later, don't take any wooden nickels";  so I thought it would fit in with the challenge at Simon Says Stamp: Road Trip.

Notice the holes at the top, now I have a new panel for my little display stand!

Easter Greetings

When I saw the current challenge at Frilly and Funkie, Knock on Wood,   I started searching through my old stash of wood pieces and ran across this little wooden Easter Greetings Tag that I picked up years ago at a 'going out of business sale'.  I never quite knew what to do with it...so I also found this little wooden tray and decided to create some Easter Decor.  I used to have a children's book about an Easter Bunny painting the eggs, so I decided to turn this little 'painting mouse' stamp into a 'painting rabbit' with the use of the bunny ears from Tim Holtz Clear Stamps, Things/Talk, and added a little 'cotton tail'.

It didn't turn out quite as I had envisioned, but I decided to get on with making Easter cards for the grandkids.  Who knows, I may change it up later!

Easter For You

This one is for my 2 year old grandaughter.  I've got both grandkids looking for a candy treat with their cards...this little cloud shaker insert is from Jillibean Soup by Hampton Arts.  It's a nice change from the round Treat Cups I've been using in the past.

I was disappointed to see that Skipping Stones Design has retired the set 'Gray Hare', I enjoy using both rabbit images as well as the cute sentiments from their set.

Here's a peek at the 'trap door' to release the candy without destroying the card.

This version is also submitted to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Easter Inspired.

Egg-ceptional Easter

I've definitely started something with the grandkids, incorporating candy into their cards! I found these cute little Cloud Shaker pieces by jillibean soup, and they are a nice change from the round treat cups I've been using. The grandkids are only 5 and 2, so I decided to track down a few more of them for future holiday cards and 'missing you' cards.

My daughter-in-law likes to save the cards I make for the kids, so I try to include a 'trap door' to let the candy out without destroying the card!

This fits well for the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp , Easter Inspired.

Spring Wishes

A simple spring greeting for my cousin who just finished chemo for Breast Cancer; she is still going through radiation, so I try to send a note of encouragement when I can. I love the March Cut-Aparts from Graphic 45, and love the spring green and purple combination.

This is my second card for the Spring Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Irish Blessing

To me, nothing marks the beginning of spring like St. Patrick's Day.  I finally put away my winter themed decor and bring out the tulips and spring greenery. This is an easel card I made to display some St. Patrick's Day greetings for a neighborhood get-together we have planned.

The challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to be inspired by Easter/Spring.
