Googly Trick or Treat

For most holidays I try to make the grandkids a card with some type of treat, this time it's Googly Eyes! When my six year old granddaughter was here a couple summers ago, we took her to the fish farm and she was allowed to pick out a prize...she chose some Googly Eye Glasses...

 

Cambria is into art, when she was here this summer, she LOVED the Ink Blending Tool! So for her birthday this year I thought I would set her up with a little kit for ink blending. Here are just a few of the goodies I ordered recently from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. In fact, the ribbon on the release tag came from a little thank you freebie which accompanied my order...so sweet!

Halloween Treats

My grandkids have gotten used to receiving treats with their cards, Halloween treats are a must! I created these little slider tags to be able to keep the card after the treats have been removed since my daughter in law likes to save them.

The trick is lining up the circles in each of the 3 layers.  Then I decorated the sliding tag, front and back.  I'll add a little note from 'Grandma Cutie' before I give it to them!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Spooky

Treats

I made a couple of cute Halloween cards for my two Grandkids which had little 'Treat Cups' with Gummy Worms.  I remembered a couple of years ago I made some little treat bags with Gummy Worms and my middle son (36 year old) threatened to keep them for himself...so this year I thought I'd better send along some extras for him!

The challenge at Frilly and Funkie is Trick or Treat.

The challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Monochrome.

For the outside of the card, I used the Poison Bottle blueprint from Tim Holtz Cling Stamp Halloween 2, a retired set from Pink Paislee Twilight Collection, and the spiders from Skipping Stones Design Happy Halloweenie. I added some fall leaves for color, scored the card base with a 1/2" fold so the treat could fit inside, and then punched a small hole to tie with a piece of twine.

For the inside of the card, I used the crow blueprint from Tim Holtz Halloween 2, and the sentiments and mini pumpkin from Tim Holtz Clear Stamp Things/Talk.

Yummy Boo

This is the second card I made for Halloween.  This one is for my Granddaughter who is almost two, so I try to keep the card fairly simple. She likes dogs, her first word was dog...but on vacation this year she discovered she is also crazy about cats!  Too bad her mom is allergic! But I thought the cute little Tim Holtz Crazy Cat would go well with her card.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I've developed a pattern of sending some type of treat in their holiday cards...this one has gummy worms in the little Treat Cup (discontinued Stampin'Up). Her brother is four years old, so I try to make the cards similar, at least as far as the treats go.

I show the inside of this card, only to show the 'trap door', allowing my daughter in law to save the card once the treats have been removed.

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Yummy Halloween

Grandkids are so much fun! I wish they lived closer so I could see their little faces when they receive their holiday cards...but then again, what child doesn't enjoy getting something special in the mail?

I've kind of started a pattern of sending them candy in their cards, so I invested in more of the plastic treat cups (discontinued from Stampin'Up) which go perfectly with this Yummy in my Tummy monster for Halloween.  My daughter in law likes to save their cards, so I carefully create a little 'trap door' to remove the treats and preserve the card.

And I make sure to put something fun in the center to show up after the candy has been removed.  It takes a little extra planning, but worth it, I think.

I'm happy that the current challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog this week is 'Anything Goes'.

I made it just in time for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 October Challenge. I didn't have the monster die cut so I improvised with an old image from my stash. I did have fun with the collage background though.

Vintage Halloween

The current challenge over at Frilly and Funkie is to create something with a vintage Halloween feel. I've always liked the little Greeting Card Kids from this old Stampin'Up set so I dragged it out and dusted it off since it reminded me of some of the vintage Halloween images.  The decorative strip at the bottom of the card is from Graphic 45 and the little embellishment tags are from an old set of die-cut journaling stickers from Making Memories.  I figured since Halloween is tomorrow, I'd better get this submitted!

Small World- Halloween Book

As I mentioned in my previous post, the challenge over at Frilly and Funkie is to make or alter something small in a Shabby Chic or Vintage way.  At first when I thought of altering this little book, I was hesitant to use a Halloween theme since it is still 2 months away; but at the same time I was excited to use my new Stampers Anonymous Halloween 2, purchased from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The images in this set are small (about 1 1/2 x 2") so I gathered some old Halloween stamps to incorporate into my little book.  Halloween is actually one of the few holidays I decorate for and I now have an 'art niche' which the little book will fit into nicely in the little vignette.  I picked up the little blank book about 4 years ago in a dollar bin (had to search for it since the recent move!), and I'm embarrassed to say how little I've used some of these old stamps...a couple of the packages had not even been opened after about 5 years.

So, I made up 8 little 'pages' to start with and added them to the little blank book.

Haunt

Our Stampin' Up group is meeting today for the first time in what seems like forever, and our challenge blog called for a Halloween card using a Stampin' Up set.  This turned out pretty cute in real life, but I could NOT get the photo to show true on the yellow!  Oh well, this is from a retired set called Home is Where the Haunt Is...I love the little flying witch.
