Don't take any...

I ran across this little 'wooden nickel' in my stash recently (picked it up several years ago, an advertisement on the other side) and thought it would be fun for the current challenge 'Knock on Wood' at Frilly and Funkie.

It was a bit of a challenge to choose which image to use from the Paper Doll collection, but when I settled on the vintage car, this 'driver' seemed to fit the bill. Young and naive enough to be reminded to not take any wooden nickels!

When I looked up the history of the saying 'don't take any wooden nickels', it was often used as part of a farewell comment, ie "see you later, don't take any wooden nickels";  so I thought it would fit in with the challenge at Simon Says Stamp: Road Trip.

Notice the holes at the top, now I have a new panel for my little display stand!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh,how I love this! And you were so smart to use a wooden nickel! (or token!) I recently pulled out these old vintage car stamps, but I didn't think to use the paper dolls in combination with it. How clever and inspiring! Thank you for sharing this with us at Frilly and Funkie--perfect for our Knock on Wood challenge! Hugs!
