Moments...just like this
Last month I made a card for my daughter in law for Mother's Day, so I started out wanting to do the same for my son...and then it evolved into a tag that he can display at work. I wanted something masculine and I remembered how much I enjoyed the first Technique Remix in 2016 by Tim Holtz (here). So, I found my Stars embossing folder, used on Spellbinders Precious Metals, and dabbed on some black Distress Paint, rubbed in and wiped down. I trimmed the metal piece to fit the Jumbo Manila Tag, and adhered it to the top portion of the tag. I then stamped the quote from the retired set from Ali Edwards, It's OK in white craft ink onto black cardstock. I used Snow Cap acrylic paint to fill in the image on the Word Bands and Typed Tokens.
For the photo, I changed the image to Black and White, printed it in wallet size onto an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of photo paper, and used Spellbinders Large Deckled Rectangles to imitate the edge of an old photo. (Looks like they caught the grandkids on Family Movie Night!)
I like that I was able to fit this into my two favorite challenge blogs:
Frilly and Funkie: Letter Perfect
Simon Says: Anything But a Card

It is always a challenge to do masculine projects, so I love how you nailed this one! What a great background with the textured stars and the metallic touches give it a "rustic elegance." I also like the nostalgic feel of it. Simply put, it is an amazing tag and I'm so glad you took the time to share it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! And on a personal side note, I always love seeing crafts geniusness from a fellow Utahn! :)
