Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge #38
The sentiment is stamped on some twill ribbon - the inside says 'You know you're getting old...when the only thongs you wear should be on your feet'.

Margarita Birthday - Skipping Stones Design
I made this card for my son's birthday a couple weeks ago (he's 29 so it's not as bad as it sounds) and then I forgot to post it...another great one from Skipping Stones Design, Margarita Birthday. The sentiment is "Every Birthday should be taken with a grain of salt", and the inside says "...especially when the salt accompanies a drink and good friends!". I cut out the glass, put a little sparkle on the edge of the glass and popped it off the page with some pop dots.

Vampire in a Volvo-Skipping Stones Design
This is for the latest sketch challenge over at Skipping Stones Design SSD037. I won this set, Fangs or Fur in the last Blog Hop and I've been dying to use it but was waiting for the right sketch, I thought the vintage feel went well with Edward since he's so traditional! Plus, my son's girlfriend is having a birthday next week and she's a real Twilight fan, so perfect timing. What do you think?
Stamps: Skipping Stones Design - Fangs or Fur
Paper: DSP K&Company, CS Stampin' Up
Misc.: Flowers-Prima, Ribbon-Laundry Line, Punches-Stampin' Up Modern Label

Grandma-Hand Stitched
Soul Scrappers Challenge TC15-Technique Hand Stitching
The challenge was to use hand stitching on a scrapbook page and I thought, who better to scrap than my grandma...the journaling is difficult to read but says "Grandma Rhynes taught me to embroider when I was about 10. She made me flannel nightgowns at Christmas and dresses, and used the scraps to make quilts. Fun to see in the quilts later." I don't generally like putting my handwriting on a page but I know it's better if you do...I fell in love with this layout and had to 'scraplift' from Robin at Creating Memories...One Moment at a Time.

The year you were born - Soul Scrappers AMC 15
Soul Scrappers is an awesome site that has challenges that make you reach a little deeper into who you are - this one is an "About Me Challenge" and encourages you to find out what was going on in the world the year you were born...which for me was a long time ago! I copied the photo on vellum and then ran it through my printer again for the journaling. I used Stampin' Up DSP called Raspberry Tart and I just love the Kiwi Kiss ribbon. I added the smaller photo of my mom holding me and my dad holding my brother who is 11 months older than I am...gives you more of an idea of the family dynamics. I also have a younger brother but he wasn't around in 1952! Thanks for looking...

SPCC #58- Color Challenge - Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery
I ran across this coffee flavor DSP on an old scrapbook calendar stuck in my closet and knew I just had to use it for this set 'Funny Coffee Volume 1'. I was going to save it for another sketch challenge since I had used Healing Wings for this sketch challenge already, but the color challenge over at SPCC (Scrapmasters Paradise Color Challenge) was calling out to me. This set has some really cute sayings and images (as do all of the SSD sets), this one just happened to fit with the challenge...go check out the store.http://skippingstonesdesign.com/products-page/
