Word Verification Off! - Grateful 4 u

You know I always love it when I see sites requesting that people turn off the Word Verification feature because I have such a hard time reading those awful words...I absolutely hate Word Verification!  So imagine my surprise when my sweet blog friend asked if I would consider turning mine off!!!!

So, this is a test to see if turning it off worked...this is actually a card I made for a CARDS Magazine submission several months ago but wasn't chosen...great sentiment though...grateful 4 u Sue!

SSD 119-Botanical Healing Wings

 

I paired the new Beautiful Botanicals set from  Skipping Stones Design with an older set called Healing Wings...I just love the butterfly from that set!  This follows sketch SSD 119:

 ...and started out following the color challenge at CR84FN50 to use pink, orange and yellow:

I like these colors so well I may try another one with a hotter pink...these are almost the colors for my son's wedding next month in St. Thomas...my first cruise!  I'm getting soooooo excited!

Route 523

A friend at work asked me to make her a card for her bus route driver...this is what I came up with, I Googled the bus route and printed a copy of the actual route.

she told me a story the other day about some geese chasing her when she was on her way to the bus...

Salt - SSD 118

 

Every Birthday should be taken with a grain of salt...

I needed to make a birthday card for a friend at work so I thought I'd pair it up with the cute sketch over at Skipping Stones Design.  I almost forgot to post it in time, but there will be a new sketch Tuesday...here's the inside of the card:

Especially when the salt accompanies a drink and good friends!  (I love these clever sentiments, and the card was a great hit at work!)

100% Tough Guy - SSD #117

I needed a card for my nephew's birthday so I chose one of the older masculine sets, Tough Guy to go with this cute sketch from Kazan Clark for the last sketch of the month at Skipping Stones Design.  It has been so much fun being a Guest Designer this month.  I hope you'll play along for SSD Sketch 117!

Kissing - Skipping Stones Design Style

I'm afraid I strayed from the sketch a bit this week...(SSD 116)

couldn't quite figure out how to showcase the 'kiss' part of Garden Kiss, the featured set for this month...anyhow, this is what I came up with, it was fun experimenting with the solid stamp and 'kissing' with the different background stamps.  Many possibilities with this cute set...there's even a little tutorial at Skipping Stones Design-Video.  It's short and sweet...take a peek!  (The sentiment is from SSD Heartsong)

OWH-Ribbon Challenge

This is for this months challenge at Operation Write Home-Our Daily Bread February Challenge to use ribbon on your card.  Our Daily Bread has generously offered to sponsor the shipping of a box of cards for every 25 cards submitted for the challenge...my card is number 50, so they'll sponsor 2 boxes again this month!

I know this looks a little sparkley for Operation Write Home, but the sparkle on the shoes is from Stickles and I promise I checked and double-checked for any glitter transfer, same with the sparkley ribbon.  As soon as I saw the 'no place like home' sentiment from Hero Arts I knew I wanted to pair it with these 'ruby slippers' from Skipping Stones Design, and the brick background stamp from Prima Clear Stamps.  Then I spotted some blue gingham ribbon in my stash to mimic Dorothy's dress.  What do you think, enough references to Wizard of Oz?
