Burlap Sunshine

The current challenge at Frilly and Funkie is Neutral Point of View...use neutral colors on your project.  I recently purchased a burlap scrapbook album to use for the new 8x8 pages for the two grandkids with a D ring so I could add pages as I go.  Since it is basically for the grandkids to be able to look through, I didn't want to make it too frilly or too funkie, but what do you do with burlap? Right?

 So, I've had these pretty flowers from Maya Road for a very long time, and I happened to pull them out to use on my Kentucky Derby Hat for our neighborhood party;

and then decided they would be sturdy enough to use on my burlap album!  Next, I die cut a scalloped square, cut the inside to make a frame for the photo opening, die cut some leaves and added a rhinestone flourish. The stamp I was going to use was 'Twinkle twinkle little star, do you know how loved you are', thus the star brad and the heart brad...then I ended up using the 'you are my sunshine' stamp instead...pretty easy to switch out if I change my mind since there is a 'window' for a removable photo!

Here are the first two pages I made to go in this album...lots to go!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I love how you altered the cover of your burlap album. I picked up some 8 1/2 x 11 binders at Tuesday Morning for $3 each and would like to do something similar. Your layouts thus far are truly adorable and heartfelt. Can't wait to see this book fill up! We're so thankful that you shared with us at Frilly & Funkie. Hugs, Autumn
