Birthday Sketch #1

This is the first of two birthday cards I made for co-workers over the weekend...this was the easier of the two because I know she likes horses and mustard yellow!  I based them both on this cute sketch from Simon Says...Use Heather's Sketch

The horse image is from Stampendous - Da Vinci Horse...love the Steampunk feel!   I'm pretty sure she will like this one!

Birthday Sketch

I had two birthday cards to make for co-workers and used this cute sketch from Simon Says...Use Heather's Sketch for both of them...

Of course I like to give them a bit of a personal touch, but the only thing I knew was that she like's purple!  Hope she likes this card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Steampunk Birthday

My oldest son is a Steampunk kind of a guy...I hope he likes this birthday card as well as he liked the Steampunk Cat from last year!  He  also loves cats, but last summer we bought a solar powered owl to keep the pigeons off our deck, and when he saw it he said he just might need one for his garden...hopefully he'll remember.

November Thanks

This card is for the Infusion office I've been going to every day for the past 6 weeks for IV Antibiotics.  Everyone there has been so extremely nice and accomodating I wanted to make them a Thank You card...since my last day is next Tuesday, I called it 'november thanks' and geared it around the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday 318.
I was also inspired by the November Challenge at Graphic 45 Facebook Page to make a Thank You card using Graphic 45 product.  The theme of my card had me reaching for an older product called Botanicabella, and I also used some Graphic 45 themed Core'dinations product for the base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Carte Postale Sympathy

This is a sympathy card for my sister-in-law from the Philippines who just lost her brother and a sister within a week of each other...she won't be back in the States until Thanksgiving.  Since she is so far away, I used the postal theme from this week's challenge at Papercraft Star #168 for inspiration.

Oh Drat!

I finally created a couple of cards this weekend after being out of commission with my fractured shoulder for a month and a half...and then I didn't post this one in time for Challenge 165 over at Papercraft Star.

Totally my own fault...they give you the inspiration photos WAY in advance...but I had this unmounted rubber stamp from about two years ago that I had won in a blog hop over at Michelle's Scrap which had never seen ink!  I've always been a little (more than a little) intimidated with coloring, but I thought I'd give this one a try for the challenge, then I didn't post it in time!  Oh drat!

Oh well, I made one other card also but was so pleased with it I thought I might save it for a submission so I didn't want to post it!  Sure felt good to get back in my craft room!

CAS Birthday Clown

I have a co-worker with a birthday coming up who let it slip that she was afraid of clowns right before Halloween last year...well, I had a clown costume I had made many years ago that was very similar to this little clown image with the big ruffled collar...so I couldn't resist using this image for her birthday card.  The background paper looks a little more yellow than orange, but it's just the photo...

Sweet Birthday

Papercraft Star #158 has some great summertime inspiration:

I bought the watermelon DSP some time ago but never found a chance to use it...perfect for this fun challenge.

Simon Says Triangles

Two more challenges: Simon Says Stamp-Wednesday Challenge - Triangles

And another one for: A Blog Named Hero - Recycle, Reuse, Recycle - that very pretty ribbon actually came from a shirt I purchased recently...you know, the straps they use to keep the shirt from falling off  the hanger...I loved the color and couldn't bring myself to throw it away!

I was also thinking of submitting to the Operation Write Home-Our Daily Bread Monthly Challenge to use Green, Brown, and Pink...in the end I thought the paper I chose had a few too many extra colors...back to the drawing board for this one!

Anything goes, Friend!

A couple of cute neighbor kids brought over some cherries and some brownies recently, with an adorable handwritten note...so I wanted to give them a card that a kid would enjoy...what do you think?  I added a big pack of gummy worms and left it on their porch.

Another entry for Simon Says Stamp Challenge-Anything Goes.

Happy Cat

My son has a cat he adores...but he's the only one, even his wife doesn't like his cat!  This cat is as happy as can be when he can bring birds home, so I thought this combination of stamps was a fun birthday card for my son and also fit in with the challenge over at Papercraft Star Challenge 155.

Some ideas for you ...

Conical shapes

And the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week is 'Anything Goes'...

Steampunk Money Card

I knew I wanted to make a Steampunk card for my youngest son for his birthday, but I thought I was going to use the Steampunk Owl from Stampendous...then I decided I needed the format to be landscape for the money opening, and the owl was too tall...so I ended up using Stampendous  F.E. Linus again...such a great image!

Love is in the air -

Love is in the air at Stampendous February Challenge.  I made this card for my son and daughter-in-law, who got married in St. Thomas last year and have an anniversary coming up...she really liked this great Jumbo Tulip stamp so I figured it would be perfect.  I stamped the image in Versamark and used white embossing powder then sponged inside the lines.  The sweet sentiment is also from Stampendous.

A Vintage Hero Challenge

Trying to get a couple of cards made for some fun challenges before the end of February...this month sure went by fast!

This card is for two challenges:
A Blog Named Hero #20  - 'If I could turn back time' to create a shabby chic or vintage style card...the vintage bicycle and the sentiment are both from Hero Arts...papers are from 7 Gypsies.

The second is for a sketch challenge over at:

Complete recovery - PDCC167

I needed a 'Get Well' card for a good friend at work and thought I'd try to combine it with the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe:

For some reason, my fuschia looked a lot more fuschia till I put it next to this...oh well, I was happy with how it turned out.

I purchased this flower stamp and punch combination quite a while ago and this is the first time I've used it, just got sidetracked with so many fun new sets out there.  I have to pat myself on the back for using this decorative brad though (I am such a HOARDER when it comes to things like that!)  Anyhow, everything but the brad is Stampin' Up...been a while since I've said that.  Thanks for stopping by, be sure to say hi!

The Contenders - Smile!

So, what, you ask is The Contenders Blog Hop?  It's a chance to post some creations that were submitted for a previous magazine submission call but weren't picked up.  Annette Witherspoon has set up inlinkz on her blog, A. Spoon Full of Sugar, for anyone who would like to participate...so check out the rules and take a peek at the fabulous inspiration there and be sure to leave some love along the way.

This is the first time playing along with Contenders Blog Hop, and I don't remember exactly which Papercrafts challenge this card was for, but I never did post it, so here goes!

The film strip image and 'Hey Handsome' are from Skipping Stones Design, the camera and 'Smile' are from INKADINKADO.  I love black, white, and yellow together, don't you?

Chalkboard Challenge

I was able to order some cute stamp sets after Christmas this year from Papertrey Ink and they arrived in time for me to play with this fun challenge Make It Monday #98-Chalkboard Technique:

The challenge over at A Blog Named Hero-Challenge 17 "New Year, New You" was to try a new technique so since this was a new technique for me I thought I'd enter it there also!

Stampendous Lil Joker

Hi there, Barb here, playing Stampendous BlogStar again...so many fun new products to play with!  Is this just the cutest 'Lil Joker'?  I started this tag with the embossed jacquard pattern of the Core'dinations cardstock because it reminded me of the little french clown. Then I started thinking, is that what that diamond pattern is called?  Oh well, it's late and I have to work in the morning...so let's just go with that!
