Happy Halloweenie-Skipping Stones Design Sketch Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I made this card for a sweet little boy named Lennon Hunt who has cancer.  I came across his story several monthls ago on a blog that talked about how much he liked receiving cards; you can read more about him at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lennonhunt

This is the last Skipping Stones Design sketch from our Guest Designer, Ashley Cannon Newell - she has provided us with some awesome inspiration this month.  If you'd like to play along with the sketch you can link up here.
My little ghosts are stamped on Shrinky Dink paper, trimmed and shrunk. This is a great little Halloween set too...if you want to see the other stamps that come with it, go to the Skipping Stones Design store.  This set is at the very bottom.

Tutorial - Stamp on Stone (Tile)

Not too many tips here, just want to show how easy it is to stamp on tile.

Materials:
StazOn Ink (Timber Brown used here)
Porous Tile (Home Depot)
Great Stamp Set (Skipping Stones Design, Wise men)

I like to practice on paper of a similar size and color.
.

No need to heat emboss, just ink up and stamp.
Then add some ribbon, a little bling if you like, a little stand, and you've got a great little 'neighbor gift'

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great day ~ Barb

Blogs 4 Boobies - Last Chance to Bid!

Today (Thursday, 9.23.2010) is the final opportunity (in fact you only have until 8:00 PM, Mountain Standard Time) to bid on the cards created for the Blog 4 Boobies Fun(d)raiser.  Here is another look at my card:

The current bid is $6.50, but if the bid goes over $10, I will also include an additional card made using two of my favorite Skipping Stones Design Stamp Sets, You Know You're Gettin' Old Birthday and the newly released set Timeless Textures.

and inside...

Remember, this is for a great cause!  I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October of 2008 and I am extremely grateful for the many advances which have been made through research.  So, don't think of it as buying a card, but as a charitable donation to a very worthy cause!  And just in case you need an excuse to shop...remember also that $2 from every stamp set sold through midnight, Thursday, 9.23.2010, at Skipping Stones Design will be donated to the The Susan G Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.  I am proud to be a part of this charity event.

Be sure to leave your email address after your bid amount in the comment section.  The bid must be on the updated Blog 4 Boobies post.  If you are the winner, an invoice for the winning bid amount will be sent to your email address.  For more details and a complete list of all participants, visit http://skippingstonesdesign.com/

And most of all...Thanks for your Support!

Wise men-Skipping Stones Design

SSD043-Wise men
It's Sketch Tuesday at Skipping Stones Design and this week the Stamp Tramps are showcasing a brand new release called Wise men.  You can see it here.  Such a fantastic Christmas set!  I didn't know I needed another Christmas set until I saw this one...I LOVE it!  Since 'O Holy Night' is my favorite Christmas song, I also chose to use the Timeless Textures musical score in the background.

Blogs 4 Boobies Blog Bounce (Hop)

Want to win* this card?  Keep reading ~

Welcome to the 1st annual Blogs 4 Boobies Blog Bounce (hop) - coordinated by Skipping Stones Design.  If you've landed here by accident, you can start the Bounce one step back at Heather Engebretsen blog or you can find a complete list at the Skipping Stones Design home page.  This is a little different than your normal blog hop because it was designed as a benefit/fund raiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.  This is a cause I am very interested in as I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer almost two years ago... and I am so very grateful for all of the wonderful research and advances in treating this all too common disease (1 in 8 women).

So...set aside some time and get comfortable - you are in for a TREAT!  Not only is this Day 1 of a 2 day event (there were so many willing participants they decided to break it into two days) you will also have the unique opportunity to 'bid' on any and all of the fantastic cards posted on this blog bounce! And let me tell you, we've got some AMAZINGLY talented participants!  For instance, the wonderful sketch for my card was designed by Ashley Cannon Newell - I have admired her work in many well known publications!  Ashley will also be participating in the bounce today.  You can play along with this sketch and link your creation at the end of the Blogs for Boobies post at Skipping Stones Design
And keep your eyes open for some 'Blog Candy'!

So, leave me a comment at the end of this post (be sure to leave a comment on each and every post), and then bounce on over to the next stop to see what Becky Olsen has created for you at: http://lifeasathreeleggeddog.blogspot.com/

And remember - there is a whole new line up for Day 2 on September 16th!

After you've shopped around (take notes cause I know for a fact there are going to be lots of awesome cards that you're going to want to bid on) you can come back and read up on :
*"How to place a bid
Step #1
Go to the blog containing the card you want to bid on.  Find the comment section.  (Make sure it is the Blogs 4 Boobies post that you are leaving a comment for)
Step #2
Fill in the dollar and cents amount of what you are willing to pay for the card/project. A starting bid of $5 or more is recommended.  Remember your bid includes shipping, and, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation
Step #3
Next to your $ bid please type in your email address. During a silent auction bidders sign their name next to their bid. Typing your email address is the electronic equivalent of signing your bid. Also it will help the blogger contact you if you are the highest bidder.
Step #4
Watch and wait.  Once you have entered your bid/comment sit back and wait. If someone out bids you then you may bid again. Bidding will continue until 8:00 p.m. Mountain time September 23rd

* Please note that the participating stampers/bloggers will  re-post their Blogs 4 Boobies card/project on the 23rd of September. When the bloggers re-post their project, the bidding will continue on the NEWEST "Blogs 4 Boobies" post in the comment section.

Things to keep in mind:
The silent auction will end at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time on September 23rd .
Near the end of the bidding you might not be able to see bids on some of the blogs as they come in. Many blogs have a comment moderation feature where the blogger must approve comments before they are published. So bid high. You might have the highest bid that is published, but someone might have outbid you in an unpublished comment/bid.
The blogger/designer will declare who has won the silent auction. Skipping Stones Design will send you an invoice for your donation/bid amount. Please pay that invoice as soon as possible, so the designer can get your card/project in the mail to you.

Butterfly Kisses

This card is for two challenges, well actually two and a half...Over at The Sweetest Thing they are having a 'Sweet Sunday Sketch #85 + Bonus', the bonus being to make a card to send to Operation Write Home  program, sending home made cards that our armed forces can use to send to their loved ones.  Operation Write Home site can give you more details about where to mail, what size, any restrictions (like no glitter)...definitely a worthy cause.  Here's the sketch for this week:

The second is a color challenge for Curtain Call: Act 47 to use Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Expresso, Whisper White.  You can find the challenge here.  All of my paper is from Stampin' Up, the stamps are from Skipping Stones Design Dandelion Dreams, to check out more of their amazing sets, visit Skipping Stones Design-Store

Skipping Stones Design-Always Here

I am so totally excited to have been chosen to be one of the 'Stamp Tramps'!  That just means that I get to be on the design team for this awesome company.  I have loved all of their witty sayings and wonderful designs for some time and they just keep getting better.  I have been so inspired by the former Stamp Tramps and hope I can keep up with the current 'oh so talented' team.

This is a gorgeous set that was just released at last week's Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop.  Click here for the Always Here set.  I was on vacation in Yellowstone and didn't have a chance to play along but hop on over to Skipping Stones Design to see some of the wonderful creations!  Stay tuned because we'll be having another great Blog Hop on the 15th.
