Tim Holtz 2016 January - Inspire Creativity
This is my first attempt for the Tim Holtz 'Tags' Challenges. In hindsight I would have added a little more detail to the 'chalked' portion of the tag, but I did enjoy experimenting with the techniques provided in this challenge. I'm looking forward to the February challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

A friend is...
This post began as a challenge for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Best Friends. I have a very dear friend who has faced many challenges the last couple of years and her birthday happens to be next week, so this is perfect for her.
When I chose the sentiment for this card I realized it would also fit in with the Frilly and Funkie Challenge-Sing. Here is a shot of the entire card.

You are my Sunshine
This is a slightly different take on the 'you are my sunshine' theme for Frilly and Funkie Sing, Sing, Sing Challenge. This one is a little more funkie than the last. It does, however, bring in the 'memories' concept since the song brings back memories of my childhood. As I mentioned in my previous post, my mom used to stand me and my brother (2 years and 3 years) on the kitchen table and have us sing 'You are my Sunshine' when we would visit my grandparents at their Arkansas farm.

Sunshine Ombre Stencil Music
I really wanted to start playing with my new stencils, so I was excited for this challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, then I noticed the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge,
to use the Ombre effect. There is also a challenge over at Frilly and Funkie, (sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique ) and their challenge was to create a project related to music.
When I was a young child, my mother used to tell me about when I was two and my brother was three and they would stand us up on a table and have us sing 'You are my sunshine' which was quite popular way back then.
I had a stamp which I had not used (I've been quite the slacker lately) so I thought this would be a perfect combination.
I have one more card to post with the same challenges, but one has the sentiment on a ribbon instead of a stamp.
Thanks for stopping by!
