Sunshine Ombre Stencil Music

I really wanted to start playing with my new stencils, so I was excited for this challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, then I noticed the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge,
to use the Ombre effect. There is also a challenge over at Frilly and Funkie, (sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique ) and their challenge was to create a project related to music.

When I was a young child, my mother used to tell me about when I was two and my brother was three and they would stand us up on a table and have us sing 'You are my sunshine' which was quite popular way back then.

I had a stamp which I had not used (I've been quite the slacker lately) so I thought this would be a perfect combination.

I have one more card to post with the same challenges, but one has the sentiment on a ribbon instead of a stamp.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I really like this cheery card!

  2. What a lovely card and an endearing story behind it! I could really picture you and your brother belting this song out and I think it's awesome that you used that experience as the inspiration for this piece. I like the simple color palette and how you made it so sophisticated with the great color blending techniques you used. It's really a charming card and I thoroughly enjoyed both seeing your art and reading the story behind it. Thank you so much for sharing your stenciling skills with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  3. Gorgeous card Barb :-) the ombre sunshine stencilled background and sentiment are perfect :-)
